Lambrusco (Salamino)

Classic aromas of Lambrusco are: Black Plums, Boysenberry, Blueberry and Red Cherry

A red grape varietal that originates from the village of Santa Croce di Carpi in Emilia-Romagna.

Though there are many clones of Lambrusco available to the growers of the grapes and makers of the wine of the same name, Lambrusco Salamino is the leading clone. It is considered to be the highest quality with a high acidity and tannin level as well as being deeply coloured.

Lambrusco is always a slightly sparkling red wine. It can be made dry, off-dry to sweet. It will always have flavours that are reminiscent of black plums, boysenberry and red cherry.
